about

I first heard this tune played by the Shropshire Bedlams to accompany Martha Rhoden’s Tuppenny Dish and their dance ‘Last Night with Archie’. I later found it had a name of its own, and this is the title. I remember being told by someone, somewhere, that the tune has its origins in Shropshire. There is also a version in Ireland which has some similarities.
